Typosquatting monitor
Typosquatting is registering a misspelled version of a domain (examp1e.com, exmaple.com, example-login.com) to catch mistyped visits or to send convincing phishing email. A one-time check shows what exists today. Monitoring tells you when something new appears.
How monitoring works
- Certificate Transparency watch: every publicly trusted TLS certificate is logged. LookalikeGuard reads these logs as they are published and matches new names against your brand. A site usually needs a certificate before it goes live, so this often catches a lookalike before it is used.
- Daily re-scan: all generated variations of your domain are checked again each day and compared with the day before: new registrations, changed scores, and domains that went away.
- Baseline first: the first scan after you add a domain records what already exists without alerting, so you only hear about changes.
- Alerts: by email (each finding or a daily digest) and by signed webhook, for findings at or above a score you choose.

What it does not do
LookalikeGuard is monitoring and early warning. It does not take down domains, send legal notices, or give legal advice. Scores are automated and can be wrong in both directions: a high score is a reason to look, not proof of abuse. Many lookalike domains are parked, owned by unrelated businesses, or registered defensively by the brand itself; you can mark those as yours or dismiss them.
