Brand impersonation monitoring
Impersonation domains copy enough of your brand to fool customers, staff or suppliers: a login page with your logo, an invoice email from a domain one letter off, a "support" site using your name. LookalikeGuard looks for these domains and shows the evidence for each.
Signals checked on each domain
- Your brand name prominent on the page (title, headings, logo text), or only mentioned in passing
- A page title that matches yours, or the same site icon (favicon)
- A password field, especially next to your brand name
- Mail servers on the domain (it can send or receive email as you)
- Registration date: recently registered domains score higher
- Signs it is yours or harmless: redirects to your site, uses your nameservers or mail servers, registered through a brand-protection registrar, parked, or an unrelated business
What you do with a finding
Mark it as yours, dismiss it, or watch it. For a clear impersonation, the usual next steps are to warn your team and customers, and to report it to the registrar's or host's abuse contact. LookalikeGuard gives you the details to include; it does not file reports for you.
What it does not do
LookalikeGuard is monitoring and early warning. It does not take down domains, send legal notices, or give legal advice. Scores are automated and can be wrong in both directions: a high score is a reason to look, not proof of abuse. Many lookalike domains are parked, owned by unrelated businesses, or registered defensively by the brand itself; you can mark those as yours or dismiss them.
